The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson & the Olympians, Book 5)
Item Description
All year the half-bloods have been preparing for battle against the Titans, knowing the odds of victory are grim. Kronos's army is stronger than ever, and with every god and half-blood he recruits, the evil Titan's power only grows. While the Olympians struggle to contain the rampaging monster Typhon, Kronos begins his advance on New York City, where Mount Olympus stands virtually unguarded. Now it's up to Percy Jackson and an army of young demigods to stop the Lord of Time.
In this momentous final book in the New York Times best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, the long-awaited prophecy surrounding Percy's sixteenth birthday unfolds. And as the battle for Western civilization rages on the streets of Manhattan, Percy faces a terrifying suspicion that he may be fighting against his own fate.

My son read through these books sso quickly we bouth the first one and got the other 3 from the library, but this last one was out and there were like 90 kida ahead of him for it....so we decided to get it...Amazon was amazing ...it came way before the (eta) via UPS by son read it in about four days....I trust Amazon with all my purchasing needs. I check with Amazon before I go to my local store, because usually I get free shipping and it does not take forever with 5th class mail..like some other companies.
My favorite.

I have to say that The Last Olympian is my FAVORITE of them all. Riordan writes so that a person can come into the series without having read any of the previous books. (I am so glad I read the series in its entirety). I felt like a true demigod experiencing the whole book as an outsider. I will forever keep re-reading this book. I am also grateful for Riordan for re-introducing me to Greek Mythology. I forgot how much I really enjoyed about mythology and I also learned a whole lot more. I would recommend the series as a whole to anyone, but most importantly, I would DEFINITELY recommend this book.

A totally fulfilling final chapter in the Percy Jackson series, the great battle between Kronos and Olympus begins, with Percy leading the charge. With some new twists that get revealed, and pretty much non stop action throughout, fans of the previous books will certainly not want to miss this fun, temporary (?) farewell.
